On All Junk Cars

Can you explain the whole junk car process to me quickly?

We show up, complete about five minutes of paperwork, give you money and take the car away. Yes, that really is the whole process. Yes, it really is that simple.

What kind of junk cars do you buy?

We buy all complete vehicles. The vehicle must have an engine and transmission.

Does it have to run?

We give cash on the spot for cars, trucks and vans that are running or not.

What if my car is wrecked?

Any condition will do.

What junk cars do you refuse?

we buy cars that have value beyond scrap metal. We also do not purchase vehicles with liens or vehicles that have pawned titles.

Can I take parts off my junk car?

We know sometimes people buy new batteries, radios and speakers for their car so we allow those items to be removed if you can do it yourself before we arrive to pickup the vehicle. (Sorry, we don’t remove parts.) The more parts you take off, the less we can pay. If you are missing major parts of your car like an engine, transmission or wheels and tires, we won’t buy the car at all.

My car has been towed. Can you help?

Of course! We come to the location of where your car is whether it’s your home, a mechanic shop, your job, a shopping mall, the side of the highway or a towing yard. In the case of the towing yard, we have to put part of the purchase price towards the towing and storage fees and you get the rest.

Do I need to have current registration?

No. We can use an old registration if your original registration expired or is close to expiring.

Do I need to have a title to sell my car?

If your junk car is 12 years old or newer we are required by law to collect a title when we buy it. Newer cars are more likely to have a lien on them, so someone still owes money on a vehicle and has to finish paying the vehicle off before the lien holder will release the title. We prefer not to buy junk cars with no title, but it is possible to get a replacement title for your car.

What’s the fastest way to get a car title? How can I get my car title?

You have to get your first “original” title after a car purchase from your county tag office. If you’ve already owned a car title and want to get a replacement for the one you misplaced, go to the Motor Vehicle Division Main Office at the Department of Revenue. A replacement title costs $18 with valid GA drivers license. Located at:
4125 Welcome All Road Atlanta, GA 30349
Office Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday excluding state holidays
Phone Number: 1-855-406-5221
You can get your car title the same day within about 20 minutes with your GA drivers license and $18. If you go to your local Tag Office, they will mail you the title within 10 business days.
For Abandoned Vehicles go to the Abandoned Motor Vehicle Department.

What information do I need to give you to sell you my junk car?

First make sure you have or know where your vehicle’s ownership documents are. After you have your documents in order give us a call, text or email with the description of your vehicle. A description is the year, model, mileage and what’s wrong with the car, if anything. After you give us the description the next step is the negotiations. Don’t be shy–it wouldn’t hurt to let us know how much you want for the car. I’m sure we can make a deal. After that, we set up an appointment to pick up the car. Our schedule is pretty flexible, and we even buy on weekends and holidays. And, of course, you receive CASH IN HAND.

Do you pay cash or check?

We do as we advertise–We definitely pay cash for junk cars and trucks. As a matter of fact, if anybody tells you they are paying by check, just hang up right away. You shouldn’t let someone get away with your car and title while you’re stuck with a piece of paper that may or may not be useful.

Is there any hidden cost to me?

No, our junk process is free. We take care of towing the car away and give you cash at that time. There is no cost to you at all. We get the car. You get the cash.

Do you buy junk cars near me?

We’re based in Atlanta, and we pick up vehicles in the metro Atlanta area. We cover everything within a 30 mile radius of downtown Atlanta. This includes pretty much every city around 285.

What should I do before I junk my car?

Before junking your car, it’s a good idea to find out exactly what’s wrong with it, so you can get an accurate quote. You can have a mechanic shop run a diagnostic on it, which usually costs around $90 plus a towing fee if it’s not running. If you don’t want to spend that kind of money on a junk car, you might want to try asking a friend who knows something about cars or just Google it. If you need more help, just call a junk car company. If the company is experienced enough and you can accurately communicate your car’s symptoms, they can tell you what’s wrong with your car over the phone.

How do I check if my title is proper?

Make sure your title is signed in the right place. On the back of a Georgia title, there is a place where the seller signs and a place where the buyer signs. If the buyer line is already signed, then you cannot use that title to buy the car. What you would need to do in that situation is let the person who signed on the buyer side go and get a new title in their name. Most of the time, they are not going to want to do that because they would have to pay the taxes in order to get a new title in their name and that could cost around $150 or more depending on the value of the vehicle. In that case the person who’s name is printed on the front of the title (if you can find them) can either sign an affidavit of correction and get it notarized so that you can replace the other person as the buyer. On the other hand, the seller can just go down to the State Tax Commissioners office and pay an $18 fee to get a new title so you can sign on the buyer side instead of the previous buyer. I always prefer the latter option.

Should I junk or sell my car?

Junking your car is a lot easier than selling it. When you’re trying to sell your car to an ordinary buyer, the potential customer most likely has a few choices of cars in mind and is only going to buy one. With a junk car company, we want to buy every car that’s offered to us. It’s just a matter of price. Junk car companies may also be the only ones who will buy your non-running car or truck.

What is a “Clean Title”?

If a car has never been in a serious accident, never had the odometer rolled back and was never bought back by the manufacturer because of a manufacturer’s defect, it’s said to have a clean title. That title is free of any title branding that stipulates a special status for the vehicle and warns potential buyers of a possible problem or issue with the car. A clean title is also a title that is easily transferable from one party to the next which means:
1. The title is free of liens.
2. The title is free of mistakes on the signature and address lines.
3. The title is not branded as “salvage.” A salvage vehicle is a vehicle that has been in an accident and said accident is deemed a total loss by the insurance company because it doesn’t make economical sense to have it repaired.
4. The title is not branded as “rebuilt.” Rebuilt means that after the vehicle was marked as salvage, the vehicle was repaired in accordance with your state’s law and is safe to be put back on the road.

What is the VIN?

The vehicle identification number or VIN is the identifying code for a specific automobile. Throughout the VIN’s life it is used to track the vehicle as it changes hands and as it is repaired and serviced. NO TWO VEHICLES IN OPERATION HAVE THE SAME VIN. A VIN is composed of 17 digits (numbers and capital letters) that act as a unique identifier for the vehicle.

What is a salvage title?

A salvage title is a title that identifies vehicles that have sustained major damages or have been deemed a total loss. Salvaged vehicles can be rebuilt and inspected to be re-registered. If your car or truck is in an accident and the cost of repairing the vehicle is a deemed too high compared to the value of the vehicle, your car insurance company will decide not to pay to have it repaired and declare it a total loss. Your insurance company will then take possession of the car or truck. In some cases, the non-running vehicle gets sold to a repair facility and the vehicle is fixed or rebuilt. The new title that gets issued on the vehicle is called a salvage title. It has the words salvage located in a prominent position on the front of the title
